Packing guide

Important notice

The small, local flights that take you between different parks and camps have a strict weight restriction of 15 kilos / 33 pounds, including hand luggage. It is crucial to respect this limit. Also leave a little bit of room for your potential shopping.

The maximum dimensions of your bags are as follows: 25 cm / 9.8 inches wide x 30 cm / 11.8 inches high and 62 cm / 24.4 inches long.

We highly recommend that you use a light, soft duffle bag as your primary bag, and a backpack as your secondary hand-luggage. This is because luggage with wheels add to your total weight and dimensions, and are harder to jam in the asymmetrical cargo holds of small planes.

So the rule of thumb for your luggage is: soft, non-rigid bags with no wheels, following the dimensions above. It is better to use two smaller duffle bags than one large hard-framed suitcase.

Note that laundry is available and included throughout our itinerary - so there is no excuse for not packing minimalist...

Lately, please avoid high voltage items like shavers, hair straighteners or blow dryers as much as possible.

Drones are strictly forbidden in Kenya and will be confiscated upon landing. Plastic water bottles are also illegal where we are going.
